Out and about Whitehorse

Posted by Lynn in Ruth's visit to Yukon

It seems these five weeks are blasting past. We have plugged a lot of activities into the time, along with working (albeit 4 days a week) and gardening. I think Lawrie actually did most of the garden work though. Now we focus on just seeing Whitehorse, and that was fun. When you live in a place, you do see things, but not really look at them very often. Having Ruth visit and also being aware that this is our last summer here was a great opportunity to really look at the interesting things in this city we have called home for the last 13 years. So here are a few of the photos I took, many more are found by clicking here or go to Photos and explore from there.

SS Klondike National Historic Site

Our Log skyscraper, all three stories of it

The Federal building, it was a nice place to work

The detachment having a break somewhere besides Tim Horton's

Main Street

Law Building

Do they see 'eye to eye'?
A very bizarre, totally metal building, seemingly without any purpose other than to amuse

And this is Ruth being amusing too

Detail on sculpture

There really are a lot of sculptures at the Arts Centre

Close-up

Also at the Arts Centre

The marsh where we often walk in the summer
The tail of the largest wind vane we know of

On her way home ... we miss you already Ruth!
