If you are here and new to this trip I just want to let you know it is entirely in reverse!!!

Friends have asked what was our favourite thing on the trip and we mostly answer that this country of Canada is big and beautiful and full of interesting places and things to see. However, we can say some specific favourites when given a moment to think. I must also remind you there is a page in this site that is called Favourite places in Canada. This list though could be considered the final favourites:

Province: Nova Scotia, Canada

City: Ottawa, Ontario

Town: St. Andrews-By-The-Sea, New Brunswick

National Park: Gros Morne, Newfoundland

Provincial Park: Cypress Hills Interprovincial, Alberta & Saskatchewan

Walking trail: Barnaby Head, New River Provincial Park, New Brunswick

Historic Site: Fortress of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia

Museum: Museum of Civilization, Hull, Quebec

Public Garden: Butchart Gardens, Victoria, British Columbia

Ferry: Chi Cheemaun, Georgian Bay, Ontario

Restaurant: D’Orsay, Old Quebec City, Quebec

Event: Canada Day, Ottawa, Ontario

Performance: Macbeth, Stratford, Ontario

Campground: Birds Hill Provincial Park, Manitoba

Beachcombing: Shore on West Coast of Newfoundland in Gros Morne

Scenic drive: Saskatoon to Winnipeg … okay that’s a joke, we can’t narrow this down to one … a list of good drives takes you across the country! Just do it!

Ice cream
Biggest - Kejimkujik National Park, Nova Scotia
Best soft ice cream - Prince Rupert Ferry (Island Farms Dairy)
Most expensive - Baskin Robbins, 17th Ave. Calgary, Alberta
Best hard ice cream - Bancroft, Ontario (Kawartha Dairy)

Is this enough already? We think so.

Hi Lynn! Hi Lawrie! 35,000km- Wow! That is amazing. I don’t know whether to feel envious of the incredible journey that you have undertaken or to feel lucky that I shared a part of it with you personally and more of it with you virtually. The later, I think!

Wonderful that you have arrived home, safe and sound. It must feel a little strange, after such an adventure, to be going back to the life you left- work, sleeping in the same bed each night- your own!- and waking up in the same town and province/territory each day:)

Anyway, we have been being voyeurs for the past few months, travelling vicariously thorugh your blog. Wonderful trail of pictures you have left behind you, and -I am sure- memories that you will caryy with you.

Take good care. I hope that the next time we canoe together it will be in your neck of the woods!

Thanks Karen, the pictures were fun to take and we enjoyed very nearly
every minute of our trip. First week of our snowy, cold winter and we are
wishing to be back in the hot muggy southern Ontario days of summer! But
it is nice to be home again and now we can start dreaming up the next
adventure. Well maybe the next adventure is the Snake River, and we just
need to get some information to the interested folk in Dartmouth? Hope
    everyone is well!
