Way to go! They won … skipped by George Hilderman, ably assisted by Buck Bernie, Gord Zealand, and his truly, Lawrie Stewart. So the story is, they went to Watson Lake to establish the top two Yukon teams and came first, then they went to Yellowknife to establish the Northern Team and came first. Now they are on their way to the Nationals, this year being hosted by Trois Riviere, Quebec. Congratulations guys!

Of course this collides with our holiday in Mexico, but I guess Mexico will always be there, whereas the Nationals won’t!

Sorry, no team picture yet … maybe later.

Okay, here is later!

This has been a great week! Whitehorse Curling Club was host to the Canadian Mixed and we’ve been volunteering our time. Of course this means we’ve spent the week up at the curling club or running around on errands. But it has been a lot of fun and we’ve made some new friends while we have been at it. All the games were great but Ontario came away with first place. They lost their first three games and then won every single one after that. Congratulations team Ontario!!! Saskatchewan was our team to escort in so they were naturally our team to cheer on. Unfortunately they didn’t curl as well as they are used to doing and didn’t make the play-offs. For statistical stuff you can go to Whitehorse Curling Club’s website at www.whitehorsecurlingclub.com where they spell it all out.

From left to right the team is Brian, Amy, Kim & Laura … we are hanging around the hall waiting to march onto the ice prior to one of the games.
